Define which competencies every position requires
Create positions with descriptions. Define competencies. Link them together. In AmpliFlow, everyone - managers, HR and auditors - sees exactly which requirements apply to every role.
Small or publicly traded. Recruitment or concrete industry. AmpliFlow is for everyone.
Build positions and link competency requirements
Create positions with descriptions - manually or with AI support. Define competencies with names in Swedish and English. Link them together: each position gets a list of required competencies. Then assign positions to employees with start and end dates.
Nobody knows which competencies are required
You're hiring a project manager. The line manager wants "leadership". HR lists "project methodology". The quality manager is missing "internal auditing". Three people, three different pictures of what the role requires.
Job descriptions live in Word documents. Competency requirements are defined ad hoc. No shared link between role and requirements.
«Show me which competencies you have determined as necessary for this position.» Silence - it isn't documented anywhere.
You can't demonstrate that you have "determined the necessary competence" per clause 7.2. The auditor writes a nonconformity.
In AmpliFlow, you would open the position, show the linked competencies and which employees are assigned to the role - clearly documented and traceable.
Clause 7.2 starts with determining
All four ISO standards require you to first "determine the necessary competence" - before you can evaluate, train, or document. The competency catalog is that step: a structured register of which competencies are required and where.
Quality
Define which competencies are needed for roles that affect product quality. Link competency requirements directly to the position so nothing falls through the cracks.
Environment
Determine which environmental competencies are required based on your significant environmental aspects. The catalog shows which positions need them.
Health & Safety
Document which safety-critical competencies exist: forklift certification, hot work, first aid. Link each competency to the positions that require it.
Information Security
Define which security competencies are needed per role - from basic security awareness to specialist competence for technical staff.
From position to competency matrix
Define positions and link competency requirements. Assign positions to employees. The competency matrix then automatically shows which requirements each person should meet - and where the gaps are.
- Positions with descriptions in Swedish and English - write yourself or generate with AI
- Competencies with names and descriptions in two languages
- Link competencies to positions - each role gets its requirements
- Assign positions to employees with start and end dates
"Customers tell us they finally have a shared picture of which competencies are required for every role. Instead of each manager having their own idea, everything is defined and linked to the positions - ready to show the auditor."

Questions about competencies and positions
Answers to what you're wondering about.
What is the difference between the competency catalog and the competency matrix?
The competency catalog is your register of which competencies exist and which positions require them. The competency matrix then shows which employees have each competency and where there are gaps. The catalog defines "what is needed", the matrix shows "who has what".
How do job descriptions work?
Each position has a name and description in Swedish and English. You can write the description yourself or generate it with AI directly in AmpliFlow. Positions are assigned to employees with start and end dates, so you have a history of who held which role.
Can we have competency names in both Swedish and English?
Yes. Each competency supports names and descriptions in Swedish and English, so international organizations can use the same register regardless of language.
Can we import existing competencies?
Yes, AmpliFlow has import functions to bring in data from Excel. You can quickly build up the register without entering everything manually.
What do ISO standards require regarding competence?
ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 27001 all have requirements in clause 7.2: "The organization shall determine the necessary competence." That is exactly what the competency catalog does - it documents which competencies are required and links them to roles.
